The Tilta Multi-Function Top Plate is a top plate for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K. It screws directly onto the top of the camera body, partly protects it and adds several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads plus two cold shoes for a monitor, microphone or receiver. The built-in 15 mm rod holder carries one rod front-to-back or side-to-side, so the camera can take accessories that would otherwise need a rod system. Version TA-T01-MFTP, colour Tactical Gray.

The Tilta Multi-Function Top Plate for BMPCC 4K/6K (TA-T01-MFTP) is a part of the TA-T01 series for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K: a top plate that protects the camera and at the same time gives it mounting points and a 15 mm rod holder — without a full cage.

Protection and mounting points on top of the camera

The plate sits directly on top of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K or 6K body and is fastened with the included 1/4"-20 screw. It forms partial protective armour for the camera and carries several 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads plus two cold shoes. A monitor, microphone or wireless receiver thus mounts straight onto the camera without adapters — and the camera stays light because it needs no full cage.

Built-in 15 mm rod holder

Part of the plate is a 15 mm rod holder. The rod slides in either front-to-back or side-to-side and is secured with the two included Tilta rod tightening screws. Depending on the direction of the rod, the camera then takes whatever is normally mounted on a rod system: a monitor arm, a microphone mount or a lens support. One rod and one holder thus open up a range of ways to lay out the accessories.

The Tilta cage system

A Tilta cage is only the start: every series has parts designed for the camera body — top handles, side handles with a REC button, HDMI and USB-C cable clamps, battery plates, 15 mm rod holders, lens adapters and ARCA or NATO interfaces. The parts share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating pins, NATO rails and cold shoes, so they combine across series. This part is one of them.
