The Tilta P-Tap to 7pin power cable powers the motors of the Nucleus-M wireless lens control system from the P-Tap (D-Tap) output of a battery or battery plate. It plugs into one motor, from which power runs on through 7pin–7pin connection cables to the other motors in the chain. The 76.8 cm length reaches from the V-Mount plate at the back of the camera to the motor on the rods under the lens.
The P-Tap to 7pin power cable is the first link in the Nucleus-M power chain: one end sits in the P-Tap socket of the battery or battery plate, the other in the motor's 7pin port. Without it the motors don't run — every chain of motors needs exactly one such feed.
From the P-Tap socket to the first motor
The cable plugs into a P-Tap output, as found on V-Mount and Gold Mount battery plates and most power distributors on a rig, and the 7pin male connector at the other end locks into the Nucleus-M motor port. The motor thus draws power straight from the camera battery and needs no source of its own. Further motors are daisy-chained — a 7pin–7pin connection cable runs from the free port of the first motor to the next, and likewise to a third. The 76.8 cm length allows for the route from the battery plate behind the camera forward to the rods.
Construction
The lead has copper cores in a rubber jacket, the connectors are ABS plastic and aluminum alloy; the whole cable is black and matches the other Nucleus-M parts. The cable belongs to the first-generation Nucleus-M system; for Nucleus-M II the power cable WLC-T06-P7P-70 applies.
The Tilta Nucleus-M system
Nucleus-M (WLC-T03 series) is wireless lens control: motors on 15/19 mm rods turn focus, iris and zoom, the FIZ hand unit or hand grips with a wheel drive them remotely, and power runs over 7-pin cables — from a P-Tap plate or daisy-chained motor to motor. The WLC-T03 parts combine: motor gears, cables, grip adapters, bridge and case all belong to the same system, including this one.
