The Tilta Side Handle Attachment Type I is a dovetail attachment that bolts a Tiltaing side handle with F970 battery onto the Tiltaing cages for the Sharp 8K, Panasonic GH5, Fujifilm X-T3, Nikon Z7, Sony a6300/a6400 and BMPCC 4K/6K. Four screws hold the attachment on the cage; the handle then slides onto the dovetail and locks. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel, Tilta Gray.

The Tilta Side Handle Attachment Type I is the link between cage and handle: a Tiltaing side handle has a dovetail interface, and this attachment gives it to the Tiltaing cages for the Sharp 8K, Panasonic GH5, Fujifilm X-T3, Nikon Z7, Sony a6300/a6400 and BMPCC 4K/6K.

The attachment bolts to the cage with the four screws included and forms a dovetail on the side of the cage onto which any Tiltaing side handle in the F970 battery version slides. The handle then comes off and goes on without tools, and the cage stays ready for both situations: compact without a handle, or with handle and battery for longer shoots. The Type I attachment is intended for the Tiltaing cages for the Sharp 8K, Panasonic GH5, Fujifilm X-T3, Nikon Z7, Sony a6300/a6400 and BMPCC 4K/6K; the body is aluminium alloy, the screws stainless steel, the colour Tilta Gray like the cages of the same generation.

The Tilta cage system

A Tilta cage is only the start: every series has parts designed for the camera body — top handles, side handles with a REC button, HDMI and USB-C cable clamps, battery plates, 15 mm rod holders, lens adapters and ARCA or NATO interfaces. The parts share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with locating pins, NATO rails and cold shoes, so they combine across series. This part is one of them.
