The Tilta TA-AHA2-LR-B is the Type II mount for the side handles of the Tiltaing Advanced Side Handle range: a 1/4"-20 thread with two locating pins. It fits Tiltaing cages for Sony a7/a9 and Canon 5D/7D, and the pins keep the handle from twisting. It suits both the left and the right handle. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel, colour black.

The Tilta TA-AHA2-LR-B is the part that carries an Advanced Side Handle over to another cage: this mount goes in place of the original one and the handle sits on the cage for Sony a7/a9 or Canon 5D/7D.

1/4"-20 with two locating pins

The Type II mount has a 1/4"-20 screw in the middle and two locating pins at the sides. The screw pulls the handle to the cage, the pins drop into the holes beside the thread and add two more points of contact — the handle then has no play around the screw and does not twist even under the weight of the camera. That is exactly the spacing of the Tiltaing cages for Sony a7/a9 and Canon 5D/7D.

Swapped on the handle

The Tiltaing Advanced Side Handle side handles have a swappable mount: the original is undone with a screwdriver, this one goes in its place and is tightened. One mount suits both the left and the right handle. The handle the operator has on one cage thus carries on to the next — only the mount needs buying.

Tiltaing handles and plates

The Tiltaing range builds the rig around the cage from parts that fit together: side handles with a REC button powered by a Sony F570/F970 battery or USB-C PD, wooden and quick-release top handles, handle adapters to an ARRI rosette, 15 mm LWS baseplates with a Manfrotto or ARCA plate and battery plates with P-Tap and USB-C outputs. They share 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads with ARRI locating pins, NATO rails and ARRI rosettes. This part is one of them.
