The Ulanzi KL01 is a pocket-sized system flash with a rotating color filter wheel built right into the head. You can switch between seven color effects with a single turn—no need to attach gels, no holders, and no need to disassemble the unit. The xenon flash tube with a guide number (GN) of 10 produces clean light at a color temperature of 6500 K with a color rendering index (CRI) of ≥ 96; the power can be adjusted in four steps from 1/1 to 1/8, and a single charge lasts for up to 600 full-power flashes. Weighing just 49 g, it fits in a shirt pocket.

Eight positions with a single turn

The filters are built into the flash head. Turn the wheel to switch colours instantly, with no need to find a gel, cut it and tape it to the head. Seven colour filters are available, plus a clear position for neutral light.

Seven colour moods on a single wheel

Filters #85CTO and #82CTB correct colour temperature towards warm and cool, while #206, #812, #102, #805 and #504 are effect colours for portrait and product photography. Switching takes a second, so you can try variations right in the middle of a shoot.

No gels, holders or mess

Traditional colour filters are bulky, hard to store and easy to lose. The KL01 has its filters built into the head, so you just turn: fast, clean and effortless.

Four power levels

Use the M button to switch power between 1/1, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8. Lower power means shorter recharge times and longer battery life, ideal for fill light. At 1/8 the flash handles a continuous burst, and at full power it recharges in 2.5 s.

Up to 600 flashes per charge

The built-in 3.8 V / 400 mAh battery lasts up to 600 flashes at full power. It charges over USB-C in about 1.5 hours, with the same cable as a phone. The charging cable is not included.

Fits in your pocket

The flash measures 53.5 × 43 × 37 mm and weighs 49 g. Carry it in a jacket pocket or a side compartment of your bag and attach it when needed. The single-pin hot shoe fits most digital cameras with a centre contact, and the flash works in manual mode.
