The Ulanzi MT95 is a mini tripod, a hand grip and a selfie stick in a single piece. Three legs fold along the body — packed it sits in your palm, opened it stands the camera on a table or on a rock. A telescopic centre column lifts the shot above the heads in front of you and a ball head with a locking collar tips the camera into landscape or portrait. The leg tips and the base of the grip carry non-slip caps, and folded the tripod fits a backpack side pocket. This version has a universal 1/4" thread.

Tripod, grip and selfie stick in one

Folded, the MT95 sits in your palm and works as a hand grip for shooting on the move. Open the legs and you have a tabletop tripod; pull out the centre column and it becomes a selfie stick. Switching between the modes takes a second and needs no tools.

Legs fold along the body

The three legs fold flat along the body, so the packed tripod is a smooth cylinder with nothing sticking out. The leg tips and the base of the grip carry soft non-slip caps that hold on a table, on rock and on sand.

Telescopic centre column

The centre column extends telescopically and lifts the camera above the heads in front of you or over the edge of a table. Retracted it disappears into the body, so you set the height gradually, to suit the shot.

Ball head with a locking collar

A ball head with a large knurled locking collar sits on top of the column. Loosen the collar to tilt and rotate the camera, tighten it and the angle holds. Going from landscape to portrait is a single movement.

Universal 1/4" thread

The head ends in a 1/4" screw that takes a compact camera, a mirrorless body, a light or a microphone — and an action camera too, with the right adapter. Of the five versions this is the most universal one.

Packs into a side pocket

Folded, the MT95 is slim and straight, so it fits a backpack side pocket, a handbag or a large jacket pocket. It never gets in the way and it is there whenever a shot worth taking turns up.
