The Libec NH40 is an NX series video head for cameras up to 10 kg. It offers a multi-step counterbalance (free + 5 steps) covering 0 to 10 kg, a metal drag unit with free + 3 steps and a dual base for 75 mm bowls and flat bases. The head weighs 1.8 kg.

Balanced in five steps

The counterbalance offers a free position plus five steps covering 0 to 10 kg at a 55 mm C.G. Indicator marks on the counterbalance knob let you read the setting at a glance.

Universal sliding plate

Besides Libec TH and HS series heads, the ±30 mm sliding plate fits many 75 mm heads and gimbals from other makers. It attaches and releases with a single touch.

Refined in Japan

Designed by skilled Libec craftsmen in Japan, the head significantly reduces wobble and backlash in pan and tilt.

Metal drag unit

The multilayered metal drag unit starts smoothly, suppresses backlash and, thanks to premium silicone grease, works consistently from −40 to +60 °C. There is no need to set the drag dial to zero for storage.

Tilt +90° to −70°

The head tilts 90° up and 70° down.

Dual base

Mount the head on a 75 mm bowl or a flat base, slider or dolly.

Longer bowl thread

Removing the spacer from the bowl clamp extends the thread for more equipment.

Accessory threads

The head has 1/4" and 3/8" holes for a monitor or light.

The new NH40 video head features improved durability for long-term use and significantly increased clamping force of the sliding plate and locking force of the pan and tilt mechanism.

Compared to previous models, the "clicking" feel of each resistance control wheel has been improved, and their clarity has also been increased by adding indicator marks to the counterweight control wheel and resistance control wheels.

Snap-on/off plate. The camera plate can be attached and removed with a single touch, allowing for quick and easy setup.

Dual head. The dual head design is compatible with both 75mm hemispheres and flat tripod bases. It can be mounted on sliders, camera dollies, and other equipment.

Adjustable spacer. Removing the spacer pad from the clamp extends the length of the thread for insertion, expanding the range of devices that can be attached to the head.

NH40 counterbalance chart. The curves show which camera weight each counterbalance step balances, depending on the height of the centre of gravity.

Multilayered drag unit. A metal design instead of low-cost plastic parts ensures smooth starts and long service life.

Illuminated bubble level. The LED-lit bubble lets you level the tripod even in the dark.

Serrations on both sides. Attach a second pan handle or other accessories on either side of the head.
