The Tilta 19mm Pro Lens Support is a lens support for 19 mm studio rods. It supports a heavy cine or zoom lens from below with a 3/8"-16 screw into its thread, so the lens does not sag and shift the image on the sensor, and does not twist under a strong follow focus motor. The open clamp goes onto the rods without removing other accessories. Aluminium alloy and stainless steel, black.

The Tilta 19mm Pro Lens Support belongs under a long lens on a rig with 19 mm rods: the camera mount alone cannot keep it on axis and the follow focus motor twists it while focusing — the support bolts it to the rods.

Lens bolted to the rods

The support goes onto the 19 mm studio rods (104 mm spacing) under the 3/8"-16 thread of a cine or zoom lens and is tightened to it with the screw included. The weight of the lens goes into the rods, not the mount, and the lens does not sag — the image stays on the sensor where it belongs. A strong follow focus motor then no longer twists the lens. The open clamp goes onto the rods from above, so the matte box, motors and other parts stay on the rods; the Tilta tightening toggle locks the support on the rods quickly and releases it just as quickly when the lens changes. The body is aluminium alloy, screws and clamping stainless steel.

Tilta 15 and 19 mm rods

Rods are the backbone of a rig: 15 mm rods (LWS standard, 60 mm spacing) carry baseplates, follow focus, matte box, lens supports and motor mounts; 19 mm stainless rods (studio standard, 104 mm spacing) take heavy builds with large lenses. Tilta makes 15 mm rods in aluminium, black or silver, 100–300 mm long, and 19 mm rods in stainless steel, 200–600 mm; rods with threaded ends join end to end with a connection screw.
